So, since I can't get my fix from Lyds, Cassie or KT, I looked online on how to draw braids.

I found myself just looking and sighing and just enjoying looking at the pretty drawings. *sigh* Pretty...
My camera is in one of the boxes, and once I'm finished moving this weekend, I'll pull it out and post some pics.
Luv you all!

I cut it yesterday. I donated 12+ inches of it to locks-for-love. It's a place that makes hair pieces for kids with terminal illnesses. My neck feels soo...liberated. *grin* And I had a million different reasons to do it, but it was particularly necessary yesterday. Sorry Aimers, I tried for a flight to Portland, but I just didn't have the cash. I'll let you do it next time.

P.S. I'd post pics, but I still haven't figured out how to do that.

well, to update...the person has called back. I wasn't there, but when I went in to get an outfit and the caller ID showed it. *sigh* I'm SO hungry right now! But things are going well...actually for the longest time I've wished for something that I could really never have...but because of this incident I suddenly have it. It's great and wonderful contrasting to something really...just...bad. But I think I'm handling it okay and I need to get back in the grove...there's a TON of stuff to do. I'll do my best! Miss you!

Happy Easter!

Hey guys-
Just got back to Medford for spring break. It was odd traveling on Easter, but much much easier to travel. I'm exhausted.
Before I left, I had a dream come true. I went up to Chicago to have a lesson with my teacher's teacher. It was so intense and beyond any skill or teaching technique I have seen thus far. It was just AMAZING to say the least. He was polite and very very good...my teacher saw him a bit later and he said that he thought that he had been too hard on me. My teacher answered that I had fun, and it wasn't too hard. His reply? "Oh...she must be a masochist." >.< it's weird, but this is one of the greatest compliments I have had and I'm going to store this sucker for a long time. *grin*
It was a long trip, and so much happened (including one significant wigging out on my part on the way up there), but that's over and done with. It was just really really cool.
SO, anyone up for a bath? Or something cheaper? It's going to be the same schedule for me,...practice every other day, and I think I'm starting tomorrow, so probably Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday I'll be really free. I can also combine days if I need to! I really want to see you peeps! I'm as dry as a bone about friends. *Though my teacher is a very very good one)
Happy Easter!

Hey everyone-
SO, everything here has been going pretty well. I'm on my way to Chicago right before spring break. It actually chipped a couple of days off of my originally planned vacation at home, and I'm flying on Easter to get home. My teacher got me a lesson with his teacher *splurts blood from nose* it's just SO amazing.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=NN78hKnDLXU
These are the guys...I'm going to have a lesson with the violist and the first violinist...perhaps meet the second violinist. Once, before they retired as a quartet, they came to the school and played the most incredible concert. *starry* It was phenomenal...they played the Mendelssohn Octet with my teachers and it was so intense! The kind of performance where you either stop breathing or you wanna take out a lighter and wave it over your head while screaming your lungs out.
The other day, I had to play for class. I told my teacher that I didn't really want to...we've been concentrating a lot on technique, and it's similar to taking apart a toy train...and right now my train is still not on the track. So...I get up there *mind you the only warm-up I had was shifting exercises in my violin tech class* and start playing a Bach fuga. Crazy man. It was crazy. I've played that piece multiple times, this semester alone. As soon as I touched my violin, I thought..."hey! This isn't my violin! Is this John's violin?? Did my teacher switch our violins??" It didn't sound like my violin and it felt TINY. By the time I woke out of that thought, I was past the second page and realized that way back on the first page, I missed a technical thing. Whoops. I get to the third page, play a minor chord instead of a major chord and it took me a little while to realize I had jumped tracks and taken a detour back to the second page. O.O I was so baffled. I suddenly stopped and looked up at everyone and said "I have NO clue where I am." David, the second violinist of the Arianna, tries to get me back on, saying to start at "the E-string, fourth finger, one two three..." It's nonsense. Who am I? What the bloody heck am I doing on this stage? Am I sleeping? What is this in my hand? I gather the remaining brains that have not completely shut down and think..."start somewhere on the third page." I find a spot and go to the end. By the time I sat down, I was completely gone. I felt it was all a dream. Not too bad. Oh well. My teacher was happy with my sound and it took me a little effort to stop myself from saying "what sound? did I just play something?"
Yes. I completely passed out while playing. That's the only explanation for it, right? Oh well. I have a lesson today anyway.
Anyway, KT wrote me the LONGEST email ever. I'm SO thrilled. She sent me some of her writing and just taking a small taste of it, it's INCREDIBLE! i can't wait to print it out and totally dive into it. She wrote something on a person that I know and I was almost bawling by the end of it. *sniffles* It's just sooooooo good. I'm so glad I invested in 90 cent stamps...now I can talk to her still.
I hope everyone else is doing well. Livejournal seems pretty quiet as of late. Everyone must be busy or something. Love you all!

A very long day.

So, yesterday, I had to record my auditions for summer music camps. The two I'm auditioning for are called Yellow Barn and Taos School of Music. Both look excellent, and I was really excited about them. Before the winter break in fact, my teacher and I had researched them and picked those two out. Both of them had deadlines...Yellow Barn wanted the materials there by February 1st. When I got back from break, I was still working on the pieces, and we had to decide about the audition. Both places had auditions in New York and Boston, but both required that I bring my own pianist *which wasn't possible since my pianist has a life*. So, on to recording. My teacher said that we could use the big theater they have here *million dollar new building* since it had the recording equipment. Yellow Barn specified that it wanted a "professional quality" dvd. So, we sent out several letters to book the theater,...the music department head and the dean of the arts college got involved and both approved, saying that it would cost me a little money out of my pocket, but that was all. This was about two weeks ago. Then, my teacher called the theater to find a time, and the theater put up a hissy fit and said that it would cost thousands to let me use the theater ...just to tune the piano alone cost a ton of money. And the person who told us this left us this message and included at the end that she was going out of town, so we wouldn't be able to contact her. o.O
Thus the scramble became a bit more urgent.
We got a camera from the department, but then someone had to figure out how to make the stupid dvd. John got sick on the weekend he was going to have a lesson at the mac store on how to do this, and then he had to move the recording time two days later because of a rehearsal. *...* This pushed us to yesterday. I went over to my pianist house, we recorded three takes of the piece with piano, and then I had only half of my whole audition on tape. John was desperately trying to get the smaller theater in the department for me to use for the rest of my audition, but instead, I managed to ninja my way into the chapel and use a great big room. *sigh* it was nice. It was right up to the last second before I had orchestra class.
Then...I went out, bribing someone to take me out to the store with the promise of beer and dinner. I got the ride, the blank dvds and some beer for my poor teacher too, and we went to his house so I could watch Lucy while he worked on the dvd. O.O it didn't go so well. Lots of tutorials and crying. But every small success we made way through just made the victory so much sweeter. We dodged several "how would you like to make this dvd creative with pop-up windows and sprinkles?" and final burned the sucker. Only to find out that one of the title pages was wrong. SO...by this time at 1:30 am, he sent me home with all the equipment, his computer and the dvds and I was determined to conquer this. And I did. Half sleeping and half clicking, the dvd's were burned and by the time I got to bed, it was 4 am. I have one more thing...the letter of recommendation my teacher has still not written. The dvd's must both be overnighted in order to make the deadline, and it has begun to snow outside with the promise of about 6 inches or 6 feet or something like that. *passes out* and I'm a bit tired. This morning, I had to facilitate my class and I got a little snippity with one of the students who recalled something that wasn't in the bloody book. *sniffle* and my history teacher announced *since his wife is a pediatrician* that there is the flu and also a sinus virus going around. So that's why for the past week my nose has felt like I've been put water up it. *it burns! Oh goodness it burns!*
So. there. going to go do laundry now. Miss you guys.

Happy Postcard!

Anna and Lyds-
Thanks for the postcard! What a coincidence...I changed my icon just the other day too! What a handsome guy! It's totally up on my wall already. *sigh* I'd love to that as a cosplay...But I'd really have to figure out something to do with my eye.
But I really am TOTALLY nuts about Yue from Cardcaptors. Seriously! If I could get Katie Bair to do the wig, it would kick butt.
And don't you just love Yuki and Toya? It makes me want to devote 5 years of my life to figuring out how to create an anime and then continuing that story...forget about sakura and li, just think of the story you could create from all those *almost* pairings that come from most of the clamp stuff. *sigh* and it's not like pairings where you sorta have to take every glance and awkward joke and fit them together like puzzle pieces...sigh...
I know that I had a GREAT video a long time of Yuki and Toya but I can't find it? Does anyone know where it is? Here's one other, though not as great.

The S Word

Well hello...what is this? This shadow behind my window that slowly arises?...Oh dear,...can it be? Is it true? Oh say it isn't! I'm not finished! I have so much more to do! So much more to LIVE for! *sob*
First task of the morrow: Attend German
Second task of the morrow: Practice all the day around classes and attend lesson
Third: Attend an extended period of orchestra

Well..it's not so bad once ya lay it out...right? Na aw...it just got so pleasantly better...Apparently my one recital has turned into three. Total songs left to learn? 3+2+3=8. This sucker of a semester is going to fly by bloody fast.

Miss you all so very much!

Potter people?

I had the weirdest dream last night...it bothered me for most of the day in fact, but I think that's because I liked it so much.
and it's not weird in the sense of Little Nemo's adventure to slumberland either. *whew* I figure it could be worse.
So the only parts of the dream that I specifically remember was being on a race track of some sort...it was a casual track, not one that you'd really race on, but I was trying to figure out how to ride a horse. I couldn't figure out how to ride bareback for the life of me, and go fast at the same time. I didn't want to pull the mane, because I figured that would have hurt the horse. I didn't hold on, but instead of slipping backwards, I kept going up the neck. But then I look over and Daniel Radcliffe is trying to do the same on his horse, but he's doing a much better job.
Then, I was in some sort of circular room, on some sort of wooden stairs that went up one side of the room. People everywhere were accusing each other, and two people even got shot...several times. It was odd, because I'm sure it was shots from sort of military weapon, and I could tell that it hit these two people several times, but they just stood up, went "phew! thank goodness those missed" and ran off. hum...
but then there was this one guy, that looked suspiciously like Severus Snape, but younger. He was next to me, and people were shouting at him, and telling him how sucky he was and how horrible he was and then he just dropped and sorta fell down the stairs. I ran up and tried to see if he was still alive while other people were like "oh he's dead" and stuff, and while I couldn't feel him breathing or anything, someone else came up and said "there's a pulse" and I thought "well, we've got to get all the doctors together and help him" but I had to pick him up and take him to a different building.
When I woke up, I felt so sad. I was really attached to him, even though everyone was accusing him of stuff and they were right with their accusations. I really wanted to find out if he was alright cause I really liked him.
Ah yes...livejournal...the place where you can write like you talk and not get marked down for it. Anywhoo, I went sledding the other day and I'm still SO sore! even my arms are sore! And very tired. I didn't even make it to midnight last night because I had to wake up early that day to go have breakfast with my grandma.
I feel like i'm veggin out on practicing. I have to finish up the excerpts and first movement of my piece before I go back! A*GH!* but it'll be fine. I guess that's what the week I have before school starts is for. Miss you all!
Oh! I still have to give everyone their presents. Yes yes, I know, I delayed buying presents because I wanted to get everyone something they wanted, instead of guessing.
